Not getting what I want...

3.3.2009

This picture made me realize how I'm feeling about this blog.

First, let me say this is Fairway, the greatest grocery store in Manhattan.  Hands down.  The variety of produce is astounding and beautiful (and picture-worthy...).

So, after looking at this, my only picture from that day at Fairway, I have two related qualms about this blog.
1.  I am not taking pictures, when I should be.

I go do fun things, have great adventures, have people over, and I don't take pictures.  At all.  And then I'm kicking myself for it because then I have to take a foolish picture to try to have one for the day, but it never really captures what my day was about.  It's almost as though I'm embarassed to be taking pictures and am not doing what I set out to do.

2.  The pictures I am taking are not really interesting enough or do anything for me artistically.

I want to improve my photography from this blog and show different perspectives.  I want to have photos that I'm proud of and that I want to look back on.  The picture of a Netflix envelope doesn't really do the trick for me!

So, I want to get over my embarassment of actually taking the pictures and know that I will be glad I did.  Also, I want to take the time to take pictures that capture the essence of my day and not just a random photo.  And I want my pictures to be photos I am proud of showing and to be something I actually want to look back on.

Fairway is brimming with potential, and next time, I will capture it.  (No matter how foolish I feel.)
